Teriyaki Chicken Meal Prep

Ingredients

Chicken Thigh:

  • 2 Lb Chicken Thighs

  • 2 Tsp Kosher Salt

  • 2 Tsp White Pepper

  • 2 Tsp Garlic Powder

  • 2 Tsp Onion Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp Chinese Five Spice

  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Ginger


Teriyaki Sauce:

  • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce

  • 1/2 tsp White Pepper

  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Ginger

  • 1/2 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

  • 2 Tbsp Honey

  • Dash of Maple Syrup

  • 1/4 Cup Water

  • Corn Starch Slurry

    • 1 Tbsp Corn Starch

    • 1 Tbsp Cold Water


Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat off chicken thighs

  2. Combine spices below and generously season the chicken thighs

    • 2 Tsp Kosher Salt

    • 2 Tsp White Pepper

    • 2 Tsp Garlic Powder

    • 2 Tsp Onion Powder

    • 1/2 Tsp Chinese Five Spice

    • 1/2 Tsp Ground Ginger

  3. Heat the pan on medium heat, then drop 1 Tbsp of olive oil into the said pan

  4. Cook chicken thighs for 4-5 minutes on each side, then remove from the pan when fully cooked

  5. While chicken is cooking, prepare Teriyaki sauce by whisking the ingredients below into a small bowl

    • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce

    • 1/2 tsp White Pepper

    • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

    • 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder

    • 1/2 Tsp Ground Ginger

    • 1/2 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

    • 2 Tbsp Honey

    • Dash of Maple Syrup

    • 1/4 Cup Water

    • Corn Starch Slurry

      • 1 Tbsp Corn Starch

      • 1 Tbsp Cold Water

  6. Pour sauce into the pan that the chicken was cooked in, using a wooden spoon, get all of the crispy bits off the bottom on the pan (this will give the sauce so much flavor!)

  7. Cooking sauce for a few minutes until thickened

    1. Sauce is done when you can coat the back of a metal spoon

  8. Put the chicken thighs back into the sauce and coat every crevice

  9. Slice into bit size pieces and prepare with rice and steamed broccoli

  10. Garnish with sesame seeds and more of the pan sauce
